CHOOSE YOUR FOUNDATION

Creating the proper foundation is an important item to check off your to-do list before your hot tub arrives. Here are some options to consider.

Concrete: This is a common choice because it’s frequently already a part of a patio or yard design, and is also sturdy and long-lasting. If you have an existing concrete surface, just ensure it is level and is in good condition. You can also have a single slab of concrete poured into a custom foundation.

Deck: This can be a good spot to place your hot tub, since a deck is typically already level. Simply have it inspected before your hot tub is installed and be sure you have the proper supports. Most decks can hold a hot tub, but you want to be certain.

Spa pad: Prefabricated spa pads are one of the simplest solutions around, and they look great. All you need to do is clear a level area of grass and topsoil, then lay out the hot tub foundation pad (Check out Jacuzzi® Brand’s high-tech polyethylene spa pad for superior quality).

PLAN FOR DELIVERY

While you’ll typically work out the details with your local dealer, there are some steps you can take to ensure hot tub delivery runs smoothly.

• Check the width of gates, doors, and sidewalks to ensure your spa will pass through unobstructed.
• Make sure the spa will fit around any 90° turns.
• Remove objects like plants or outdoor furniture that might hinder the delivery team.
• Consider overhead clearance: inspect your yard for low roof eaves, overhanging branches, or rain gutters.
